Getting started

Launch safely in seven steps.

  1. Add ConsentGuard Pro to the intended website or funnel page.
  2. Choose Balanced, Strict, or Compact, then set brand colors, placement, and language.
  3. Enable only the analytics, advertising, and functionality categories the site actually uses.
  4. Add valid HTTPS privacy-policy and contact links. Do not publish placeholder links.
  5. Match consent-dependent scripts to the corresponding category or listen for the consentguard:consent event/dataLayer entry.
  6. Preview desktop and mobile, then publish to a test URL.
  7. In a private browser window, test Accept all, Reject optional, granular preferences, reopening settings, and optional-cookie removal before production use.

Consent Mode v2

When enabled, ConsentGuard Pro writes default-denied Google consent signals before collecting a choice and sends an update after a choice. Confirm that tags on the page honor these signals; the widget cannot correct unrelated tag configuration.

Policy revisions

Increase the revision only when a policy or category change requires visitors to choose again. Changing it causes a new prompt.

Uninstall

Remove the widget from the page and republish. Confirm the ConsentGuard interface and runtime are absent. Existing first-party browser storage can be cleared by the visitor or by normal site-data controls.
